Solar Energy

Professional Advice
Experienced Installers

Experience the freedom of generating your own energy.

Solar is a smart investment for your home or business, but navigating the options can be overwhelming. With complex regulations, a wide range of products, and conflicting advice, it’s hard to know where to start.

At ElectraServe, we make it simple. We believe the right solar system starts with the right design. That’s why we don’t push kitset packages or lock you into a single brand. Instead, we offer free in-house design to create a custom solution tailored to your property, using the most suitable equipment for your needs.

With over 15 years of experience, we’re Mid Canterbury’s longest-serving solar installer. Our local team of certified designers and installers brings deep knowledge of both solar and the wider electrical industry — so we can ensure your generation integrates seamlessly with your entire electrical system.

We stay at the forefront of solar technology through ongoing research and training. As proud SEANZ members, we’re also approved to work with major banks to offer energy systems through low-interest loans.

Residential Solar

Single phase, three phase, string inverters or micro inverters we can help you make the right decisions for solar that is optimized to your home. Panels can be mounted flush to your roof, extended up on brackets or on the ground.

If your circumstances mean your energy usage is high outside of daylight hours we can design options to better utilize the energy you produce. This may include load management, hot water diversion or battery storage.

Batteries can also be a great consideration to power your home during grid outages.

Commercial Solar

Installing solar on your business will reduce operating costs with savings often covering the initial investment in as little as 5-10 years. Generally business have higher energy usage during daylight hours so the energy you generate is immediately used and less is purchased from the grid.

We can design a system to suit almost any roof and building.

Ask us about energy monitoring and load management to further reduce your energy costs, with or without solar.

Farm Solar

Installing solar on your farm is a smart way to reduce energy costs, especially for high-demand areas like dairy sheds and irrigation systems. Because farms use a substantial amount of energy during daylight hours, solar energy helps offset reliance on the grid and can deliver substantial long-term savings.

We assess your farm’s plant and equipment to design a solar system that generates energy when—and where—you need it most. Panels can be installed on shed roofs, on unproductive land or even floated on ponds, keeping them out of the way of daily farming operations.

Off-Grid Systems

Independent off-grid generation systems are becoming increasingly popular due to expensive network and grid connection costs. While the initial investment may be large, it can often be a similar or less cost than installing long mains cables in rural environments. Once installed your energy costs are limited to some simple maintenance.

Our smart off grid systems can manage generation from solar or hydro while charging the batteries, controlling loads and automatically starting a backup generator, if required.

Independent Inspections

Is your solar system performing optimally or do you have concerns about work carried out by another contactor? We can make assessments of existing solar installations to review performance and compliance.

Cleaning and Servicing

Solar systems are reasonably low maintenance but having your system serviced can help to optimize its performance and identify issues before they become a problem.

We offer a comprehensive servicing plan that includes cleaning your panels, thermal imaging, structural and electrical checks along with a performance assessment.

Hydro and Wind Generation

Additionally to solar our team is experienced in hydro and wind generation. While not as common in Mid Canterbury, there are some great areas where these natural resources can be utilized for electricity generation.

Powering up sustainability

EA Networks has embraced renewable energy, installing a 75kW solar array on the rooftops of its offices in the Ashburton Business Estate. The array spans two buildings and includes more than 140 panels. It was designed and installed by local electricians ElectraServe who completed the project in March.

By harnessing solar energy, the company aims to reduce its carbon footprint and lower its direct energy costs over the long term by generating its own energy, effectively making hay while the sun shines. “We are really pleased to be able to generate some of our own energy needs locally and reduce both our energy costs and network capacity during summer” said Onno Mulder, EA Networks Chief Executive.
