Apprentice Refrigeration Technicians
— Two Positions
ElectraServe is looking for two people ready to begin a career in refrigeration technology.

You will work alongside experienced technicians, learning how to install, maintain, service and fault-find equipment across residential and commercial environments. This is a genuine earn-and-learn pathway towards the New Zealand Certificate in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning (Trade), Level 4.
What you can expect:
- Real work and practical learning from the beginning
- Supervision, coaching and feedback
- A variety of sites and systems
- Paid approved apprenticeship course fees
- Paid time for required block courses
- Support for approved travel or accommodation outside Ashburton
- A pathway towards becoming a qualified refrigeration technician
What we’re looking for:
- Reliability and a willingness to turn up ready

- Respect for customers, teammates and equipment
- Willingness to listen, ask questions and act on feedback
- An interest in tools, technology or mechanical systems
The work may include manual tasks, ladders and work in ceiling or restricted areas. Training, supervision, PPE and appropriate safety controls are essential.
No refrigeration experience is expected on day one. Practical hobbies, technology subjects, part-time work, sport, farming or other examples of commitment and teamwork are all useful things to tell us about.

Do you enjoy TVs, Wi-Fi, audio, cameras or smart-home technology? Would you rather work with real equipment and customers than sit at the same desk every day?
ElectraServe is looking for an AV/TV Technician to join its Ashburton-based team.
What you’ll learn and work on
- Installing and setting up TVs
- Wall mounting and cable management
- Aerial and satellite reception
- Home and commercial audio
- Wi-Fi access points and data networks
- Security cameras
- Smart-home and automation systems
- Testing, troubleshooting and customer demonstrations
The person we’re looking for
You don’t need to know every system already. We want someone who is:
- genuinely interested in technology;
- practical and willing to learn;
- patient when solving problems;
- careful with customer property;
- confident communicating with different people;
- committed to tidy, accurate work; and
- dependable and safety-conscious.
Some jobs involve lifting, ladders, roof spaces or under-floor areas. These tasks must be approached with appropriate controls, training, competence and supervision.
