Mid Canterbury Community House Solar Installation

Mid Canterbury Community House Solar Project

Completed: February 2026

ElectraServe was proud to design, supply, and install a grid-connected solar PV system for Mid Canterbury Community House in Ashburton. The 40kW solar installation was tailored to meet the facility’s energy requirements, helping reduce electricity costs while generating clean, renewable energy to support the important community services delivered from the site.

This project was made possible through a collaborative effort involving EA Networks, ElectraServe, the Ideal Foundation, and other local supporters. As part of ElectraServe’s commitment to the Mid Canterbury community, our team supplied materials at cost and hosted a volunteer installation day, with staff donating their time to help deliver the project efficiently and minimise costs.

The completed system features 73 solar panels and is expected to generate approximately 50,000kWh of electricity annually, helping improve the long-term sustainability of the facility and allowing more resources to be directed back into the community.
